Overview

As a Company Driver for UNIS’ 1st Shift, your primary mission is to ensure the safe and timely transportation of freight within UNIS’s LTL (less-than-truckload) and FTL (full-truckload) divisions. You will play a crucial role in supporting the company’s logistics network by connecting terminals in our nationwide system with consistent efficiency, safety, and high-quality service. This position operates at the intersection of operational dependability and customer satisfaction, directly impacting UNIS’s ability to deliver exceptional logistics solutions to our clients. Key Responsibilities

1. Safely transport non-hazardous freight between UNIS terminals and customer locations, adhering to assigned schedules and routes for the 1st Shift.
2. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and maintain optimal operational safety and efficiency.
3. Monitor and document driving hours and vehicle conditions in strict adherence to federal and company policies, ensuring regulatory compliance at all times.
4. Collaborate and communicate effectively with the dispatch team and other personnel to provide updates on delivery status, proactively address delays, and maintain alignment with operational goals.
5. Uphold UNIS’s standards for service, safety, and professionalism, fostering positive relationships with customers and furthering the company’s reputation as a premier logistics provider.

Pay and Benefits

Compensation

$29 per hour

Requirements

1. Possess a valid Class A CDL with a minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience as a Class A CDL Driver.
2. A clean and acceptable DOT/Safety driving record with no major infractions or DUIs.
3. Meet or exceed the medical standards as mandated by the US Department of Transportation and hold a valid DOT Medical card.
4. In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspection, and maintenance requirements.
5. Successfully pass a drug and alcohol test, as well as a comprehensive background check, and provide employment references.
