    Overview

    Item.com is seeking an AI Power User who can use AI tools effectively to improve everyday business work. This role is for practical, curious operators, analysts, coordinators, and business professionals who can identify repetitive work, apply AI safely, validate results, and document better ways of working. This is not an AI engineering role. The focus is on high-quality AI use, workflow improvement, adoption, and human judgment. Contract position. Must work U.S. PST hours.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Use AI tools to research, summarize, draft, analyze, classify, and organize business information.
    • Identify repetitive manual work that could be improved through AI-assisted processes.
    • Create and maintain prompt templates, checklists, and simple operating guides.
    • Validate AI outputs for accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and business relevance.
    • Support teams in adopting AI tools responsibly and consistently.

    Pay and Benefits

    Compensation

    $368 - $560

    Requirements

    • Demonstrated practical use of AI tools to improve real work—not only casual experimentation.
    • Strong written communication, analysis, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to distinguish useful AI output from incorrect, incomplete, or unsupported output.
    • Comfort working with business data, documents, spreadsheets, systems, and standard productivity tools.
    • Process-oriented mindset: able to identify inputs, decisions, exceptions, and handoffs.

    Skills

    Using AI to create drafts, summarize documents, analyze data, prepare research, or improve customer/operations communications.
    Building reusable prompt libraries, templates, SOPs, or team playbooks.
    Using AI alongside spreadsheets, CRM, ticketing, operations, recruiting, logistics, or business systems.
    Identifying a manual process and helping define how it could be improved or automated.
